What separates the IQ-8000 from standard power wheelchairs is the included wireless remote control, which allows a second person to operate the chair from a short distance. This is practical in situations where the seated user needs hands-free assistance — being guided through a crowded space, boarding a vehicle, or maneuvering through a doorway that requires coordination.

Two battery configurations are available depending on daily range requirements. The 12AH lithium-ion battery delivers up to 10 miles per charge and is approved for travel on most major airlines and cruise lines. For higher daily usage, the 20AH battery extends range to up to 19 miles per charge — note that the 20AH battery is not approved for airline or cruise travel. Both battery options charge while installed in the wheelchair or independently after removal.

The seating system uses memory foam with cooling gel inserts and silicone support technology, which distributes pressure more evenly during extended sitting periods compared to standard foam cushions. An under-seat storage bag provides accessible space for personal items during use.
